The venue features 15 versatile rooms, including session rooms, a spacious plenary room, dining areas, and spaces to connect—a perfect setting for meaningful dialogue and effective knowledge exchange. The stunning views of Montréal’s skyline are an added bonus as we elevate the latest science, reflect on progress since the first Innovate4Cities Conference in 2021, and highlight collaboration pathways across sectors.

Dedicated to a sustainable Conference

Le Westin Montreal is committed to sustainability with initiatives aimed at minimizing waste. These include ‘clutter-free setups’, recycling stations throughout the venue, encouraging sustainable transport and food donation programs to reduce food waste. Conference co-hosts, the Global Covenant of Mayors and UN-Habitat with the support of the venue are dedicated to offering locally sourced vegetarian food to those attending in person.

Guests staying at Le Westin can further support limiting the venue’s environmental footprint by opting out of daily housekeeping, which is further rewarded by guests receiving loyalty reward points.

In response, Montréal has committed to a sustainable future with its Climate Plan 2020-2030, which outlines 26 strategic measures to achieve carbon neutrality.

This proactive approach and dedication to environmental stewardship make Montréal a fitting host for the Innovate4Cities Conference, aligning with our goal of fostering innovative and cross-sector solutions to urban climate challenges.

With the leading role that Innovate4Cities has in curating knowledge on cities and climate change science, there will be ample opportunity for discovery and meaningful exchanges for those attending the 2024 Innovate4Cities Conference in person.

Participants in Montréal will have the choice of over 100 sessions, ranging from 20 to 30 minutes, to explore the full spectrum of topics related to climate science and cities, while the 60-minute deep dives and networking sessions will allow for in-depth discussions on the critical challenges and solutions in fostering sustainable, climate-resilient cities. Limited sessions will be streamed online.
