Online Info Session: Navigating the I4C26 Call for Sessions Proposals
Are you planning to co-create knowledge and action with us at the 2026 Innovate4Cities Conference (I4C26)?
The 2026 Innovate4Cities Conference (I4C26) is the fourth global convening at the crossroads of city climate science, decision-making, and implementation. Co-hosted by the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (GCoM) and UN-Habitat, it brings together the people who generate evidence, make decisions, shape policy and implement urban climate action across local, regional, and national government, alongside academia, civil society and industry. Held at UN-Habitat’s Headquarters on 21-24 June in Nairobi, Kenya, I4C26 convenes both cutting-edge science on climate change and cities as well as the translation required to ensure it informs – and accelerates – policy and practice at scale.
In preparation for the landmark conference in Nairobi, GCoM and UN-Habitat are co-hosting a practical 1-hour webinar designed to provide leaders from academia, government, business, and civil society with more information about the fourth global convening at the crossroads of city climate science, decision-making, and implementation. This info session will focus on:
- The Urban Climate Agenda: How I4C26 builds on key outcomes of key milestones, including COP30 and WUF13, and connects to the IPCC SRCities process
- Program overview: Understand more about the four-day programme and how your session fits into the broader I4C26 engagement process and the mission to accelerate urban climate action.
- Session types: Deep dive into the different formats (e.g., Research Paper, Insight to Impact, Creative Narratives) to help you decide which best fits your work and navigate the session proposal process
- Selection criteria: Insight into what the review committee is looking for in a successful proposal
- Conference outcomes: An overview of what the Conference promises to deliver and how sessions like yours will contribute
