The 2026 AI x City Climate Action (CCA) Hackathon is officially kicking off at I4C26! We are inviting Innovate4Cities delegates to join the Hackathon team at 2 high-energy sessions in Nairobi. 

Whether you have a fully-formed tech solution or just a spark of an idea, this is your chance to engage with a global ecosystem of city leaders and researchers to turn your vision into action. 

Workshops at I4C26

• Day 1: The 2026 AI x CCA Hackathon Ideation Sprint (Register by 28 May)

Looking for a hands-on way to make an impact? Put your innovation cap on for our Ideation Sprint. Participants will work in teams to develop AI-driven solutions for city climate action such as Transportation, Informal Settlements, or Disinformation. 

• The Reward: Winners stand a chance to fast-track directly to the Hackathon Grand Finale at the University of Cambridge. 
• Requirements: To join a team and pitch, you must register by 28 May 2026. 
• Orientation: Selected participants will join a virtual orientation in the first week of June to help prepare for the session. 

Observers are welcome to drop in during the workshop without prior registration. 

• Day 2: The 2026 AI x CCA Hackathon Global Launch

Join the live global kickoff for the third edition of the AIxCCA Hackathon. Attendees will hear from expert partners on the future of AI in urban climate action and watch the Ideation Sprint finalists pitch their solution live. 

Spaces are available on a first-come-first-serve basis and registration is highly recommended.

• 🇪🇸 Travel to Spain for the 2026 Urban Transitions Mission Global Innovation Summit, Accelerating Urban Transitions: Scaling Impact with AI and Digital Innovation, in Viladecans. 
• 🏙️ Pilot your idea with a Partner City to test your climate solution.
