The Montréal Call to Action on Cities, Climate Research and Governance aims to accelerate climate action by making science, knowledge and innovation available to support stronger, more ambitious and widespread collaboration between subnational (cities, towns, states and regions) and national governments.
This comes at a critical moment ahead of COP29, where leaders will share progress on this collaboration and enter the final phase of updating their climate plans that will shape the next five years of climate action.
Practitioners in urban development and climate change science from around the world are invited to sign this Call to Action, launched at the 2024 Innovate4Cities Conference.
Whether you’re working in research, science, the private sector or civil society we invite you to sign the Call to Action below. Add your voice to show your support for this agenda and call on national governments to fully realise the potential of urban climate research.
If you’re a local leader, please register your interest below to formally receive the Call to Action upon its official launch on 12 September. Your details will be listed in this way alongside the signatories.
