Partnering with Sweden for Cities Globally

Cities are where climate ambition becomes investment opportunities – when governance, finance and the private sector align. This session presents Sweden as a partner for cities worldwide, combining democratic governance, systems thinking and innovation to accelerate the green and digital transition.

The discussion explores how multi-level collaboration and integrated financing can turn climate ambition into investable, scalable opportunities – creating predictable markets for sustainable infrastructure, mobility, energy and digital solutions.

Drawing on cases from cities in China, Kenya, India, Brazil and Ukraine, the session highlights lessons learned, opportunities to align with CHAMP objectives, what is needed to scale solutions, and strategies that enable long-term partnerships with global solution providers.

Participants will gain insights into how international collaboration strengthens institutional capacity and creates predictable investment environments that crowd in private capital. The approach supports trade strategies by advancing green transition solutions abroad and positioning companies as competitive partners in climate-smart urban development.
